Well, in a bid to see if Wordpress really needs to preload all those options set to autoload, and to see if it makes a difference on the memory consumption I detailed earlier. I've set them all to "no" on this site so nothing is autoloaded. If you encounter any problems, please let me know. If I don't hear anything, I can only assume they don't have any adverse effect.

Why oh why is Wordpress to pedantic about it's plugins? I've just spent the past hour scanning code and disactivating/activating plugins trying to work out why when I enable a single plugin, nothing is shown on my site. The cause - a bloody empty line at the end of said plugin. Why does this matter?

I stumbled upon this really cool plugin for Firefox (and Safari and IE) - Cooliris. Once installed, the plugin allows you to quickly preview the underlying content of links without actually clicking. Just hover your mouse pointer over a link and see the content immediately (well as immediately as your link will allow the page to be downloaded).
