It looks like Microsoft's Vista is hitting rejection from a big customer already. The US Department of Transport has banned any installation of Windows Vista, Office 2007 and Internet Explorer 7.
It's been less than a week since Windows Vista hit the shelves and we're already hearing of problems and new bugs. Today the tech news sites are all getting very excited about the new vulnerability in Vista's Speech Command utility, purely from a "Oooh, a vulnerability ALREADY" perspective, but no one has given a moment's thought for those that this bug poses a major problem. You can't make this shit up: Microsoft's Jim Allchin is claiming that Vista's new lockdown features are so capable and thorough that he is comfortable with his own seven-year-old son using Vista without anti-virus software installed. I wouldn't be so sure - being this cocky is just inviting hackers to find great big holes. Oh and I don't think many 7 year old boys are responsible for large corporate infections. Continue reading ►
