  • Linux: The Completely Fair Scheduler - What? Another scheduler for Linux? Why does Linux need so many different schedulers? Why can't someone just write one and then enhance it?
  • Sun injects NetBeans into Ubuntu - Java and NetBeans will certainly start to gain traction in the open source world now. Lets hope some of this rubs off onto OpenSolaris.
  • Limiting Users to One Login Session on Solaris (no coding required) - This is a very common question, and one that's always answered with "can't be done by default, so make a PAM module". Well not anymore, Darren details how to do this using project(4).
  • The Greenest Computer Company Under the Sun - So that explains why I no longer have my own rubbish bin. We're going super green.
  • Free and Open Storage Software - Sun opened sourced quite a few impressive storage features. Now anyone can create a new, open and free storage solution on commodity hardware, based on OpenSolaris, without being locked into proprietarycode. Nice one.
